Zachary Heyman
Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture
Grounds Assistant
Zach Heyman is grounds assistant at Stone Barns Center. His love of food and passion for conservation, natural lands and environmental justice took him from New Jersey, where he worked with trail-building crews, to Costa Rica, where he studied sustainable development while living and working on a mango and orange farm. Zach has also worked for the Student Conservation Association in New York and New Jersey, the Renewable Energy Alaska Project in Anchorage and on the Vice Media green roof in Brooklyn. Zach recently earned his B.S. in environmental studies from The New School.
At Stone Barns Center, Zach works across the landscape, assisting in forestry and silvopasture management, compost operations and the Center’s waste-fed pig program.
On the side: Zach loves traveling, hiking, kayaking, climbing, grilling and exploring all the Hudson Valley has to offer.
